School of Medicine Alumnus Supports Medical Students in Culinary Medicine

Medical students with a passion for culinary medicine will benefit from the George and Susi Lewinsky Scholarship Endowment Fund, which was established with a $100,000 gift from UCI School of Medicine alumnus Bernard S. Lewinsky, MD, (’69) and his wife, Barbara. The scholarship fund is named after Lewinsky’s parents, who were active participants in the arts.

These scholarships will help medical students attend national nutrition education conferences that nurture their interest in blending the art of cooking with the science of medicine. To date, more than 200 UCI School of Medicine medical students have participated in culinary medicine training supported by the institute.
