Please join psychiatrist and poet Dr. Monisha Vasa, and mindfulness expert and poet Cayce Howe, for this 90 minute virtual workshop exploring how we can connect during these uncertain times. In this workshop, we will go through a step by step process that integrates mindfulness practice with reflective writing, in order to deepen our personal understanding of self-compassion. No previous writing or meditation experience required.
Supplies Needed: A journal or several pieces of paper, a favorite pen or pencil, and a quiet space.

Monisha Vasa, MD
Dr. Monisha Vasa is a board certified general and addiction psychiatrist and mindfulness facilitator, who is specifically trained in Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention. Dr. Vasa specializes in organizational wellness, and has consulted with a number of hospitals including UC Irvine Medical Center, City of Hope National Medical Center, as well as large corporations. She is in private practice in Newport Beach, and is also a writer and scholar of Narrative Medicine at Columbia University. Her writing and expertise has been featured in a variety of outlets including NBC News, Huffington Post and Self Magazine. She is the co-founder of The Mental Health Collective, a novel treatment center specializing in integrative, evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions.
Cayce Howe is a Senior Meditation/ Dharma teacher for InsightLA and teaches meditation at mental health facilities in Southern California. His meditation practice has spanned nearly 30 years, including six years living and working at meditation retreat facilities. Cayce is a founding teacher for the InsightLA Long Beach branch, where he regularly teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self-Compassion, and other mindfulness and meditation offerings.
