Faculty Wellness Program

As a joint-collaborative effort, the UC Irvine School of Medicine and Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute established the UCI Health Faculty Wellness Program in 2018.

The goal of this program is to help foster camaraderie, increase support and build awareness among faculty of the valuable health and wellness resources available through UCI.

The program’s first event was held on September 25, 2018 at the UCI Medical Center. Subsequent events included guided mindfulness practices, art seminars, mindful hikes, social events and a family spring picnic.

Ongoing Wellness Programs

The Interactive Screening Program is an online system created by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which offers anonymous screenings for stress, depression and other mental health conditions, as well as personalized resources and support.  (Download PDF here)

Mindfulness Courses are offered twice a year for free to faculty.  The fall course is Mindful Self Compassion and the spring course is Mindfulness for Healthcare Communities. They are both six weeks long.  These courses are led by a Samueli Institute mindfulness instructor Amy Noelle.  Faculty are welcome to enroll as many times as they would like.  Please check the event dates for more information.
