    Bio:

      Michelle Luhan is an integrative registered dietitian (RD) certified by the American Dietetic Association since 1997. She is also a certified dietitian and nutritionist (CDN) and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Michelle holds a master’s degree from New York University in Clinical Nutrition and Food Science and an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Business Administration. She completed her clinical practice at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She then worked at NYU Medical Center, Beth Israel’s Center for Cardiac and Pulmonary Health, and eventually operated her private practice in downtown Manhattan for 15 years before relocating to Southern California in 2021. 

      Michelle’s clinical practice includes the prevention and treatment of heart disease, kidney disease, blood sugar irregularities, disordered eating, women’s health, inflammatory conditions, weight management, and gut health. 

      She offers individualized and group nutrition counseling and develops customized, easy-to-follow programs that guide her patients to better health.  

      Outside of patient care, Michelle frequently lectures on health topics, volunteers for UCI research projects, and provides educational opportunities for UCI medical and pharmacy students. She can also be seen conducting wellness and food appreciation classes at her family-operated retreats in Todos Santos, Mexico, and Tuscany, Italy.  

      Raised in a European household of restaurateurs and physicians, nutrition has always been Michelle’s foremost passion. Speak with Michelle, and food will suddenly become your first line of defense for any health condition you are trying to target. 

      Michelle enjoys hiking, skiing, surfing, and cooking for her friends and family.
