Education

Health Sciences Education

Across the UCI Health Affairs enterprise, we train current and future doctors, nurses, pharmacists and public health professionals in integrative medicine best practices. From our naturopathic residency to our evidence-informed culinary medicine program, we bring creativity and innovation to health education.

UCI School of Medicine is one of the few medical schools in the country to offer a four-year longitudinal educational training track in integrative health, equipping medical students to be future leaders in effective, compassionate, whole-person care.

Teaching Evidence-Informed Methods

The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute at UCI is educating generations of health sciences professionals to transcend current disciplinary boundaries. Students and healthcare providers learn about an integrative model of healthcare that includes conventional and complementary healing practices. Our classes address both the benefits and the risks associated with new approaches. Through all our programs, we strive to educate a diverse health workforce that includes members of underrepresented populations. Our educational programs seek to improve the quality of life and health outcomes as well as increase access to integrative health resources for our local underserved patient community.

Continuing Integrative Health Education

Integrative health education for community professionals is a high priority for the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. We share evidence-informed theories and practices through our curriculum, conferences, classes and in the clinical setting.
