At UCI Health, integrative nursing recognizes the importance of the relationship between the patient, the caregiver and the environment. It supports the nurse’s ability to utilize evidence-informed nursing practices, which start with less invasive or intensive, and move to the more invasive or intensive depending on need or context. Integrative nursing encourages and supports the caregivers’ investment in their own health and wellbeing. The Samueli Institute participates in ongoing training of UCI Health nurses and other healthcare professionals.
