Department Wellness Officers

The Samueli Office of Wellbeing trains department wellness officers in the UCI School of Medicine to advocate for the needs of the faculty within their departments and to work on projects that will improve workflow efficiency and reduce burnout. The role of the department wellness officer is to share information about resources that are available to faculty and to study issues that are contributing to burnout within that department, under the guidance of the chair. We request these physicians stay in this role for a minimum of three years and participate in the UCI/UC Davis Clinician Wellbeing Fellowship as training. Department wellness officers meet every two months.
