March being National Nutrition Month, this webinar will focus on the food and mood connection. Dr. Karen Lindsay, registered dietician and Early Career Samueli Endowed Chair, will provide an overview of the bi-directional and multilayered relationship that exists between nutrition/diet and psychological stress or mood state. She will explore examples from experimental research studies in diverse populations. Mindfulness and mindful eating will be presented as tools that may have the capacity to break the cycle of stress-related eating behavior, with potential for beneficial effects on metabolic health outcomes.
