Regenerative injection therapy is used to stimulate healing in musculoskeletal structures such as tendons, ligaments and joints to treat patients with chronic pain, improve function, increased range of motion and regenerate tissue. Techniques and injections may vary by condition.
Principles
With Prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), we are able to offer patients the latest regenerative medicine treatments that are both safe and effective. A core principle is that a small volume of a solution is injected at sites on painful ligament and tendon insertions, and in adjacent joint space over a series of treatment sessions to maintain long-term improvement. Treatment protocol is individualized for each patient, taking into account severity and age of injury as well as the patient’s individual healing capacity.
Conditions Treated
Most musculoskeletal conditions can be treated with prolotherapy and PRP. Areas typically treated include shoulders, elbows, wrists/hands, hips, knees, ankles/feet, neck, upper and lower back, and TMJ. Conditions commonly treated include:
- Tennis elbow/golfer’s elbow
- Achilles tendon injuries
- Rotator cuff problems
- Meniscal injuries
- Ligament injuries
- Osteoarthritis
- Back pain and neck pain
- Whiplash
- Ankle sprains
- Hamstring injuries
- Plantar fasciitis
- TMJ dysfunction
- Degenerative spine disease
- Many other acute and chronic pain conditions
