Neuropsychological Assessment

Overview

A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment includes tests of cognitive ability, academic achievement, personality function, behavioral issues, memory function and executive function.

Integrative neuropsychologists use a variety of assessment tools and techniques to evaluate cognitive and emotional function, including standardized neuropsychological tests, QEEG brain mapping, and clinical interviews.

Principles

Neuropsychological testing helps integrative neuropsychologists provide a comprehensive and tailored approach to assessment and treatment, ultimately improving the quality of life for their patients. Based on assessment results, integrative neuropsychologists develop individualized treatment plans that may include neurofeedback, cognitive rehabilitation, psychotherapy/cognitive behavioral therapy, and other interventions aimed at improving cognitive and emotional functioning. These treatment plans take into account the neurological, psychological and behavioral aspects of the individual’s condition, including health issues.
