To encourage innovative research studies that address growing health challenges and add to the evidence base of integrative health practices, the Samueli Institute invites and supports collaboration from all UCI and UCI-affiliated faculty with research projects that provide an understanding of the mechanistic basis or clinical outcomes related to the use of integrative therapies. Faculty funding opportunities include the Pilot Studies Program and the Samueli Scholars Award Program.

Early-stage research projects that seek to expand the boundaries of integrative healthcare are awarded UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute Pilot Program grants.
Samueli Scholars Program
The Samueli Scholars Award Program is for current UCI faculty whose achievements show extraordinary promise to advance basic, translational, or clinical scholarship in integrative health and have a history of contributions of national distinction in their disciplines.
