Academic Integrative Medicine (AIM) Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate Program

A Health and Wellness Coach speaks with a patient.

The Academic Integrative Medicine (AIM) Health and Wellness Coaching certification program is a six-month virtual course from the UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute that promotes innovation, academic rigor, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity.

Students are trained to provide integrative health coaching to clients with a variety of clinical conditions and prevention goals. It teaches interdisciplinary healthcare delivery that is both conventional and integrative by utilizing evidence-informed strategies to meet the needs of diverse populations, especially underserved and underrepresented.

The program offers a unique focus on supporting those with mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, mood disorders, and more. Students learn ways to recognize these conditions, communication techniques to address them, and whole-person approaches to support clients.

The program is an Approved Health and Wellness Coach Training & Education Program by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). Upon completion, graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the HWC Certifying Examination to become National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
