Hui Hwang practicing Tai Chi in Aldrich Park
This is a past class that no longer accepts registration.

Tai Chi is a form of martial arts which originated in China hundreds of years ago. This ancient practice uses mind-body-breath exercises and has been shown to strengthen musculoskeletal functions, improve mental health, reduce sympathetic nervous system responses, and improve coordination and balance. Known as “moving meditation,” Tai Chi has been used to aid various health concerns including heart and lung health, cancer remission, psycho-emotional health, and corporate workplace wellness.

Dr. Hui Hwang’s Tai Chi/Qigong class series starts with a set of silk reeling practices, which are carefully designed to strengthen your musculoskeletal system, combined with breathing exercises to enhance your cardiopulmonary functions and mind-body connection.

The class then will focus on step-by-step teaching and practicing evidence based Tai Chi/Qigong forms. These forms, practiced on a regular basis, have shown to increase quality of life, sense of wellbeing and psychoneuroimmunological vitality.
